Making Change

My money don’t jiggle-jiggle, it folds...

We’ve been antiquing and visiting farmer’s markets around Ontario where we picked up our new favourite bespoke jams from Forbes Wild Foods. After all that day tripping, we ended up with a lot of change and no place to put it. As necessity is the mother of invention, we were inspired to come up with a design-forward solution - a little something to keep it all together.

This month we are launching wallets inspired by heritage patterns mixed with bold contemporary colours. This are definitely not your grandma’s wallpaper. Scroll down through the Vibin’ Wallpaper to see the entire collection.

The Toronto International Film Festival is in full swing and there have been two films at the top of our hitlist.

With Good Night Oppy, Director Ryan White delivers a spirited documentary about the exploration rover Opportunity, its ambitious 15-year journey across Mars, and the team of scientists and engineers that made the vessel part of their aerospace family.

A Jazzman’s Blues is a heartbreaking tale of forbidden love lays secreted within a tantalizing murder mystery spiked with a series of dazzling musical numbers, in writer-director Tyler Perry’s long-gestating passion project.

We’re also cruising through a few good books this month – both about art the 20th century:  Surrealism and Women, edited by Mary Ann Caws, Rudolf E. Kuenzli and Gwen Raaberg, is a collection of sixteen illustrated essays which present an important revision of surrealism by focusing on the works of women surrealists. The Art of Choosing by Sheena Iyengar promises to be a thought provoking book about choice and choosing. In our world of shifting political and cultural forces, technological revolution, and interconnected commerce, our decisions have far-reaching consequences. We are looking forward to her research and analysis.

We’ll probably also polish of the rest of that jam with a few good cups of coffee in our newly designed mugs. Grab one for yourself in the ABCs collection. Each much has a different pattern corresponding to each letter. See how many you know.

The leaves will be changing soon and we’ll be on the look-out for brilliant reds & golds, perhaps some inspiration for new designs, but for now we’re hunting the wild mushroom!

A presto,
CourageDrifter
