They’ve added their star power to many organizations which help those in need. As well, these exceptional women are involved in various promotions to aide the status of women in the film industry.

Actor Sigourney Weaver is a famous figure in popular culture. She is considered to be a pioneer of action heroines in science fiction films. Sigourney has received many accolades in Britain and the USA for her films, Broadway performances, and animated film contributions. She supports non-profit organizations which focus on those in extreme poverty, mainly women and disabled people. An environmentalist, Sigourney is also honorary chairperson of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.
Geena Davis, actor and producer, is an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award recipient. She is an executive producer of the new documentary "This Changes Everything" about how women in Hollywood are pushing for more representation in front of and behind the camera. She is the Founder of Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. Geena is a supporter of the Women’s Sports Foundation.
The multiple award winning actor, comedian and singer, Jane Lynch has been entertaining us in film, television and stage work for many years. She joined the Ban Bossy campaign as a spokesperson advocating leadership roles for girls. A self-proclaimed animal lover, Jane has recorded a PSA for PETA encouraging the adoption of shelter animals.
Uma Thurman is the popular star of film, television and stage. Uma has been involved in various philanthropic and activist causes, and with charitable organizations providing aid to families and children suffering poverty. She serves on the board of the Tibet House US. In 2007, Uma hosted the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. Uma has joined the Rhino Rescue Project.
Oscar-winning actor Nicole Kidman has played in many powerful female roles. She has given voice to complicated women and is committed to celebrating their stories. In 1994, Nicole was a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Development Fund for Women in 2006.
